PatentSecure is built to keep your intellectual-property data private and secure. This guide explains how your data is protected and how you stay in control of it — including how to download a full copy or delete your account.

How your data is protected

• Your data stays yours. Your portfolio — your watchlist, alerts, competitors, and technology areas — belongs to your account and is not shared.
• Encrypted. Your data is encrypted in storage and in transit, with secure authentication protecting access to your account.
• GDPR-compliant. PatentSecure is built to European data-protection standards.
• AI within your account. When you use the chat features, the AI works only with the data in your own account to answer your questions.

Download a copy of your data

You can export everything in your account at any time:

1. Open Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone.
2. Select Download My Data.
3. PatentSecure prepares a JSON file containing your data — including your alerts, watchlist, settings, and chat history — and your browser downloads it.

This is useful for your own records or to satisfy a data request.

Delete your account

If you ever want to leave, you can permanently delete your account and all associated data:

1. Open Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone.
2. Select Delete Account.
3. To confirm, type your account email address exactly. This safeguard prevents accidental deletion.
4. Confirm to permanently delete your account.

This action is permanent and cannot be undone. It removes all your alerts, watchlist items, settings, technology areas, competitors, and chat history. Consider downloading your data first.

Subscriptions and deletion

Deleting your account is separate from cancelling a subscription. If you cancel a paid plan, you keep access until the end of your billing period and are then moved to the Free tier — your data remains until you choose to delete it. You can manage your subscription in Settings → Subscription & Billing.
