Monitoring

Patent office coverage

Which patent offices PatentSecure scans today, and how to request additional offices for your account.

PatentSecure monitors the world's major patent offices so you don't have to check each one yourself. This guide explains which offices are covered today, what's coming, and how the data behind your monitoring works.

Offices monitored today

PatentSecure currently scans the following offices daily:

  • USPTO — United States Patent and Trademark Office
  • EPO — European Patent Office
  • WIPO — World Intellectual Property Organization (international applications)

Coming soon

Coverage of additional offices is being added, including CNIPA (China), JPO (Japan), KIPO (South Korea), and more. If your business depends on a specific office that isn't live yet, let us know — additional offices can be enabled for your account on request.

How the scanning works

Every day, PatentSecure automatically scans the offices it covers for new publications, then checks them against everything you monitor — your technology areas, competitors, and watchlist. There's nothing to schedule or run yourself; the daily scan happens in the background and your results are ready when you next sign in.

Cross-border tracking

PatentSecure uses INPADOC patent family data, which links related filings of the same invention across different countries. This means that when an invention is filed in several offices, you can follow it as one family rather than as scattered, unconnected records.

Searching across coverage

Beyond monitoring, you can search US and EU patents directly within PatentSecure, and open any patent's original record on Google Patents with one click.

Coverage expands over time. The offices listed above reflect what is live today; check your account or contact us for the latest, and to request offices specific to your business.

PatentSecure provides decision support for your IP management and does not replace individual legal advice.
