Getting started with AI Smart Setup

The fastest way to set up PatentSecure is AI Smart Setup. Instead of configuring everything by hand, you describe your business in a sentence or two and the AI proposes your technology areas, competitors, and the regions worth monitoring. You review the suggestions, keep what fits, and apply them — usually in just a few minutes.

Before you begin

You need an account and to be signed in. New accounts are offered AI Smart Setup automatically; you can also start it any time from your dashboard.

Step by step

1. Open AI Smart Setup. When you first reach your dashboard, the setup assistant appears. (You can also launch it later from the dashboard.)
2. Describe your business. In the text box, write a short, plain-language description of what you make and where your innovation lies. For example: “We manufacture lithium-ion battery cells for electric scooters and e-bikes. Our key innovations are in fast-charging technology and thermal management systems.” The more specific you are, the better the suggestions.
3. Generate the setup. Select Generate Setup. The AI analyzes your description — this takes a few seconds.
4. Review the AI suggestions. You'll see three groups: Technology Areas, Competitors, and Suggested Regions. Each suggested item has a checkbox.
5. Keep what fits. Uncheck anything you don't want to add. Everything left checked will be created.
6. Apply your selection. Select Apply Items to add them to your account.
7. Done. You'll see a Setup Complete confirmation. Select Go to Dashboard — your next daily scan will use your new settings.

Tip: Your plan sets how many technology areas and competitors you can add. If the assistant has limited its suggestions, it's because you're near your plan's limit. You can remove items later and add others at any time.

What happens next

Once your monitoring is configured, PatentSecure begins scanning for relevant patents on its daily schedule. You don't need to do anything else — new findings will appear in your Alerts and in your daily summary email.
